Welcome to the third edition of PowerLink News!
In 2002, PG&E approved a rebate for purchasers of Powersmiths' harmonic cancellation transformers under the Standard Performance Contract. What does this mean? In short, PG&E has certified that Powersmiths' transformers provide superior energy efficiency and power quality benefits over standard K-rated transformers.
How does this benefit the user of Powersmiths' transformers? The benefits are many, however the most notable are 1) cash incentives from utilities and the CPUC, reduce the overall capital cost, 2) excellent power quality - less than 5% harmonic distortion, and 3) increased transformer efficiency means lower energy bills.
Further education about power quality and harmonics is available at The Forge, an electrical laboratory that demonstrates the effects of electronic loads as they interact in an electrical system. You can visit The Forge live in Toronto or Dallas, or we can bring it to your conference room via the web.
